CFOT Results: Michael

On Thursday and Friday, we got to do Michael, which if memory serves, is the first fallen soldier workout, in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael McGreevy, 30, of Portville, NY, who was killed in Afghanistan June 28, 2005.

The workout is as follows:

Three rounds for time:
Run 800 meters
50 Back Extensions
50 Sit-ups

This workout provided plenty of excitement on the men's side, which resulted in our first-ever dead heat. Our top two finishers, Brandon and Steven, took on each other head to head and finished at the exact same time: 17:20. Strong work by both!

The women's race was extremely competitive as well, with Beth and Audra posting sub-20 times, separated by about 30 seconds (19:12 vs. 19:47).

There were a number of strong showings by all involved, with nearly everyone setting a PR. I wouldn't exactly call Michael a fun workout, but it was a great experience to coach, that's for sure.

Top 3 Men:

Brandon & Steven 17:20
Mini 17:55
Patrick 18:13

Top 3 Women:

Beth 19:12
Audra 19:47
LB 20:54

Tomorrow's WOD is snatch 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps. We'll be scoring this based on the highest single snatch, not total volume throughout the workout.

The CFOT totals have been updated through today's workout.

Come on people what happened to the motivation with the throwdown! I know bodies are hurt and tempers are flying but this is ridiculous. Hike up your skirts and get this competition going!!!!!

Thanks for the words of wisdom, 'Anonymous.'

Connor,

Thanks for the update. I talked to Audge after you two finished so I'd already given you the 2 points for Rx'd.

Hi Mike,

If I got the extra Rx point for Michael I think that brings me to 13. I ended up doing the full volume despite feeling a little under the weather that day.

How come there are four names for the top three men?
...and Michael sucks

...and anyone that posts something about hiking up the skirts as "anonymous" obviously has nothing to show under his skirt!

Is it really true that one of the Crossfit Oakland guys almost cried when he could not get up the rope? Can't wait to see you at the Crossfit Games...waahhh!!!!

Alec,

I can't recall but I thought you rowed instead of running, no?

If you did run, then yes, you deserved the rx'd point.

Let me know and we'll get it squared away.

How about some more pictures of CFO on the site? (No more dead soldiers--they make me sad and very un-throw-down-like.) :-(

Is tomorrow's workout named after our Nicole? Can we have pictures of our Nicole doing Nicole? Or anybody we know doing Nicole?

Laura

Also, trash talking as "anonymous" is crap.

Step up or play nice.

Yes, I ran for Michael (albeit slowly, but cut three minutes off my previous time).

You might be thinking of the 5K, which I rowed.

I think these workouts are making people go crazy! Maybe we should stop before someone goes postal :)

For just one night let’s not be Co-Crossfitters. Let's be Co-people.

That blog post (anonymous) makes me embarrased to be a part of CrossFit....tremendously. And that blog post had to have been written by a person who doesn't have a weakness. And has never, HAD A WEAKNESS, and has had their HEART BROKEN, and come home upset. And had to deal with that person, when he is upset. And kick a person when he's down! Here's all that guy did, he's goes to CrossFit, he's respectful to the trainers, he's respectful TO THE ATHLETES!!!... and he's a honest guy. And he's not a professional athlete and he doesn't deserved to be kicked when he's down. If you have a weakness someday, you'll understand how it feels, but you've obviously never had a weakness, but I do.

If your weakness show's up in a WOD, and somebody makes fun of it, b/c you don't have the technique, OR SAYS YOUR FAT!! And you come home DEVESTATED!... you'd understand. But you haven't had that... but someday you will.. and when your weakness is exploited in a WOD you'll understand.

If you wanna go after an athlete, ONE OF THE CROSSFITTER ATHLETES!! You go after one that doesn't complete the WODs honestly. You don't downgrade him b/c he is honest in every workout and may not perform well on Tommy V!!!

Where are we at in society??!!

Makes me wanna puke!!!

for anyone who hasn't done the WOD yet today, go slow on the runs, you can still get 5 or 6 rounds of pull-ups in, and use those runs as your rest. oh and dont fall off the bar in your second round...

just some friendly advice and encouragement from one cfo'er to the rest of you.

happy happy joy joy
